Houzz is a website and online community about architecture, interior design and decorating, landscape design, and home improvement. To activate plans to bring the Houzz content to a print magazine format, our team worked with Meredith Corporation to develop a prototype.
The prototype publication translates the product power of the website to print. As a paper publication, the Houzz magazine makes the breadth and depth of information that the website offers personal—rather than serving as a “best of.” In print, products can be presented in ways not available through searchable terms. Stories about professional and homeowner relationships built on the Houzz platform validate the need for hiring professionals. With thoughtful story packaging and engaging design, these stories give readers confidence to go from dreaming to doing.
